Events are held rain or shine. Weather may restrict telescope viewings, but other activities will still take place.

Due to historic construction of telescope domes and safety concerns, neither of the telescopes are wheelchair accessible at this time. Those having difficulty navigating stairs may also find the telescopes inaccessible.

Lick Observatory reserves the right to substitute the performer and/or speaker at its sole discretion.

Please allow one hour drive from San Jose. The event typically lasts between 4 and 6 hours; prepare to drive home late in the evening. Driving directions and parking information can be found here.

Telescope Viewing:
In order to view through the telescopes, guests will receive a numbered pass at the door. Guests with the lowest telescope numbers are admitted to the telescopes first - so we recommend getting to the observatory early! Doors open one hour prior to the event start time.
